Pico facial FAQ
What's the difference between Pico Genesis and Pico Genesis FX?
Both use our picosecond laser. Pico Genesis treats the skin evenly to break up excess pigment and brighten your tone. Pico Genesis FX is fractional: it treats tiny columns of skin with untouched skin in between, which kickstarts collagen to smooth fine lines, texture and acne scarring, as well as pigment.
Which one is right for me?
If your main concern is sunspots, freckles, uneven tone or dullness, Pico Genesis is usually the place to start. If you also want to work on fine lines, texture or acne scarring, Pico Genesis FX may suit you better. We'll look at your skin at your free consult and recommend the right one.
Does it hurt?
Most people find it very manageable. We keep you comfortable throughout, go at your pace, and always finish with a cooling facial mask to calm your skin.
Do you treat melasma?
Yes. Melasma is one of the most common reasons people come in for Pico Genesis. It's a gentle, low-heat treatment, which matters with melasma. Melasma can come back, so daily sun protection and occasional maintenance are part of the plan. We'll walk you through it at your free consult.
Is there any downtime?
Pico Genesis has no downtime, so you can get right back to your day. Pico Genesis FX is more intensive, so expect some redness, swelling and peeling for several days while your skin renews. We'll walk you through your aftercare before you leave.
How many treatments will I need?
Many people see a brighter, more even look after one treatment, and a series usually gives the best results. Every skin is different, so we'll recommend a plan for your skin at your free consult.
Does it work on all skin tones?
Pico Genesis is gentle and suitable for all skin types, including darker skin tones. For either facial, we tune the laser settings to your skin and talk through your goals and history at your consult, so we can recommend the safest approach for you.
How much does a pico facial cost?
Ask us at your free consult and we'll recommend the right treatment and plan for your skin.
