Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) can be a great fit, until it isn't. Maybe the dots have blurred together, the colour went too dark, the hairline doesn't suit you anymore, or you simply miss your shaved look. Whatever the reason, you can change it, and you never have to explain the backstory.
Why people remove or correct SMP
- The colour is too dark or too dense
- The dots have softened or spread over time, so it looks more like a shadow than hair

Fade for a redo, or remove completely?
This is the first thing we'll talk about at your consult, because it shapes the whole plan.
Fading
If you still like SMP but want it done differently, we can lighten the existing work so a new hairline or a softer density can go over it. Bring any notes from your SMP artist to your consult.
Full removal
If you want your scalp to look like it did before SMP, we keep going session by session as long as the pigment keeps lifting.

How laser SMP removal works
We use the Cutera Enlighten III, which pairs picosecond and nanosecond pulses and has three wavelengths. The laser breaks the pigment into smaller pieces that your body clears away over time. We tune the settings to your skin, and it works on all skin tones.
Test spot first, always
Cosmetic pigments are made differently from regular tattoo ink, and some can react unpredictably to a laser. So we treat a small test spot first and check how your pigment responds before treating the whole area.
Does it hurt?
Your scalp is sensitive, and we take that seriously. We numb first, cool the skin throughout, and give you breaks whenever you need them. You set the pace.
Healing
Healing looks a little different for everyone. Before you leave, we'll walk you through your aftercare and what's normal while your scalp heals, and we'll book your next session when your skin is ready.
How many sessions will I need?
We don't give a set number, because every SMP job is different. How much pigment was used, how deep it sits, how it's aged, your goal (fade or full removal) and how your body heals all play a part. At your free consult we'll look at your scalp and give you an honest estimate.
