It's the first question everyone asks, and it's a good one: is it safe to use a laser so close to your eyes? The short answer is yes, when it's done carefully and with the right eye protection. Here's how we do it.

Why people remove eyeliner tattoos

  • The line is too thick, too dark or too dramatic for everyday
  • It has blurred, smudged or spread over time
  • The wings or shape don't suit you anymore
  • You just want a fresh start

How we protect your eyes

Your eyes are protected with special eye protection the whole time we're treating near them. We take our time, explain every step before we start, and stop whenever you need a moment.

Test spot first, always

Cosmetic pigments are made differently from regular tattoo ink, and some, especially skin-toned, white or very light shades, can react unpredictably to a laser. So we always treat a small test spot first and check how your pigment responds before treating the whole area.

Comfort

The skin around your eyes is delicate. We numb first, cool the skin throughout, and give you breaks whenever you need them. You set the pace.

Before your appointment

Please take your contact lenses out before your treatment, and bring your glasses so you can see clearly on the way home.

Colour changes: what's normal

Eyeliner pigments are often blends. As the darker colour breaks up, warmer undertones like red, orange or brown can show through for a while before they lift too. Some cosmetic pigments can also darken when they meet a laser. None of this is a surprise to us. It's exactly why we test first and adjust as we go.

After your treatment

Some redness and swelling around the eyes is normal for a few days, a bit like a mild sunburn. A cold compress can help. Before you leave, we'll walk you through your aftercare, and we're a message away if anything worries you. We book your next session when your skin is ready.

Questions to ask any clinic

If you're comparing clinics for eyeliner removal, ask:

  • What eye protection do you use?
  • Will you do a test spot first?
  • Can I see how you'd treat it before I commit?
  • What colour changes should I expect along the way?

We're happy to answer all of these at your free consult.

How many sessions, and what does it cost?

We don't give a set number of sessions, because every tattoo is different. Pigment, depth, age, placement, your goal and how your body heals all play a part. At your free consult we'll look at it together and give you an honest estimate.

Cosmetic tattoo removal is quoted at your free consult, once we've seen the area, the pigment and your goals. 0% in-house financing is available.
